What Drives us?
Our Mission Statement
To foster a community where people with disabilities fulfill their potential as responsible co-workers, neighbors, and friends.

Where iT all started
Where did the clubhouse model come from?
The Clubhouse Model was established in 1948 by Fountain House in New York City as a community designed to support individuals living with severe mental illness. Unlike traditional treatment programs, a “clubhouse” is not about services provided to people, but about belonging—it’s a place where every person is a valued member.
At the heart of the Clubhouse Model is the belief that meaningful work and shared responsibility promote dignity and recovery. Daily operations are organized to require and rely on the active participation of members. From administrative tasks to creative projects, members contribute their skills, talents, and ideas to help the clubhouse thrive. In turn, they receive the support they need to pursue their own goals, whether in employment, education, or personal growth.
Life-Changing Programs
Clubhouse Opportunities
The Clubhouse offers a welcoming day program where members work side by side with staff, build meaningful relationships, develop new skills, and explore creative expression. Through a sense of community and shared purpose, members gain confidence and a feeling of belonging.
We support each individual’s journey toward greater independence and community connection. From volunteering to social outings, our community integration program helps members engage with the world around them in ways that are supportive and empowering.
Our employment services provide hands-on support with résumé writing, interview preparation, and exploring job opportunities. Whether a member is looking for part-time work, training programs, internships, or long-term career goals, we help create a path toward meaningful, sustainable employment based on each individual’s specific needs.

Transformative Gatherings
Working Together
Our dedicated staff works alongside members to improve quality of life and support personal growth. With diverse skills and years of experience, we understand the unique needs of our community and are committed to helping every member pursue their goals in a supportive, respectful environment.
Community Focused
Adventures to Remember
Being an active member of the community is a core part of our Clubhouse Standards. We create lasting memories by exploring opportunities that once felt out of reach.
As members challenge themselves to try new things and embrace new experiences, they build friendships, achieve personal milestones, and grow in confidence. At the heart of it all is connection, because finding a sense of community is the greatest adventure of all.

Leading with Kindness
In Memory of Sam Durbin
Our co-founder Sam Durbin was one of the most influential figures in our Clubhouse history. With an open heart, unwavering dedication, and heaps of integrity, Sam inspired everyone he met. His vision and passion helped shape the spirit of our Clubhouse, and his legacy continues to guide us every day. “Anyone can find a good life that gathers friends around you so that you can double your happiness and cut your sorrows in half. That’s what my circle of support does for me.”
A labor of love
Writing to Remember
Every member of our Clubhouse has a story worth telling. Through our writing program, we create space for members to share their experiences, reflections, and voices in their own words.
From personal journeys and daily challenges to moments of triumph and insight, these writings offer a powerful glimpse into life at the Clubhouse. We’re proud to support and celebrate our members by sharing their words with the broader community.
